Restaurant waitlist

A restaurant waitlist for the nights you are full.

When a date is fully booked, guests join the waitlist instead of going elsewhere. The moment a table frees up, Manjelier emails the ones whose party fits, oldest first. Nobody on your team has to ring round.

How it works

From “fully booked” to a table filled.

  1. The guest taps Alert me

On your booking page, when their date has no slot for their party. They pick a preferred time or any time, and leave name, email and phone.
  2. Something frees up

A cancellation, a declined request, a no-show, or a booking moved on the timeline. Manjelier recalculates that date straight away.
  3. The right guests hear first

The oldest entries whose party now fits get an email, up to three at a time, for a slot within an hour of the time they asked for and at least 30 minutes away.
  4. They book it themselves

The email links to your booking page. First to book gets the table; it is never booked for them behind your back.
The small rules that matter

Fair to the guest, safe for the room.

A waitlist that offers a table you cannot seat is worse than none. These are the checks it runs.

Only real capacity

It offers tables from the same pool your booking page sells: closed zones and bar seats stay out, and your covers cap still counts.

No double offers

An entry is marked before the email goes, so two frees at once never send the same guest two emails. If the email fails, the entry goes back in the queue.

Already booked? Skipped

A guest who found their own way into a booking that day is marked as booked and not emailed.

Notify by hand

Saw a table free up yourself? Press Notify now next to any guest in the waitlist panel and they get the same email.

Your language

The email follows the language of your dashboard, English or Spanish, with dates written the local way.

One alert, then quiet

Each guest gets a single email for their entry. No newsletters, no follow-ups.

Restaurant waitlist questions

How does a guest join the waitlist?

On your booking page, when the date they want has nothing left for their party, they tap Alert me, choose a preferred time or any time, and leave their name, email and phone.

What frees up a table?

A guest cancelling, a request you decline, a booking marked as a no-show, or a booking moved to another time. Each one makes Manjelier look at that date again.

Who gets the email?

The guests who joined first and whose party now fits, up to three at a time. If they asked for a time, the free slot has to be within an hour of it. Guests who already hold a booking that day are skipped.

Does the waitlist book the table automatically?

No. The email tells the guest a table opened up and links to your booking page. Whoever books first gets it, and your usual rules for accepting bookings apply.

Is it a queue for walk-ins?

No. It is for dates that are fully booked online. For walk-ins on the night, your host adds them from the staff pad.

Do guests get a text message?

Not today. Waitlist alerts go by email.

Which plans include it?

Every plan with bookings: Manjelier Table at £179 a month, Manjelier Pro and Manjelier Business. On the Manjelier plan, adding bookings takes it to £249 a month.
