Tablet kiosk from Manjelier

A restaurant tablet kiosk for Android

Our kiosk app turns an Android tablet into a Manjelier tablet, and only that: locked to Manjelier, run from your panel, with alerts nobody can mute.

What the kiosk does.

One tablet at the door, one on the floor, one in the kitchen. Each opens on what that place needs and nothing else.

  • Locked to Manjelier

Kiosk mode keeps the tablet on Manjelier. The usual browsers, the Play Store and the settings are blocked, and you choose from the panel which other apps staff may open. The manager PIN opens a way out for a set time, then the tablet comes back.

  • Updates itself

New versions install themselves while the venue is closed. Nobody has to touch the tablet.

  • Run from your panel

Choose from the dashboard when it goes back to its home screen, when it dims outside your opening hours, when the screen turns off, the nightly restart and its language.

  • Alerts that always sound

New bookings, changes and reminders chime on the alarm channel, at a set minimum volume. Muting the tablet does not silence them, and no setting turns them off, not even the owner’s.

  • A tile for each job

Staff Pad and the kitchen for the team. The dashboard, the menu and the tables sit behind the manager PIN.

  • An idle screen with today

Left alone, the tablet shows your venue and today’s bookings with the next one. One touch and it is back.

How it fits with the rest.

The kiosk is how your tablets run Manjelier. It works with Bookings or the AI waiter, and with every add-on.

At the door, with Bookings

The host seats a walk-in on the pad and hands the tablet to the guest, who types their name, how to reach them and any allergies. About Bookings

On the floor and in the kitchen

Staff Pad and Kitchen & bar open from their tiles. A kitchen tablet puts the kitchen first. About Staff Pad

Set up from your panel

Print the setup QR code from the dashboard, scan it on a new tablet, then pair, reset or remove tablets from the same place.

Questions.

Which tablet do I need?

An Android tablet on Android 12 or later. You set it up by scanning the QR code in your dashboard, which is what locks it, keeps it updated on its own and keeps the alerts on. The tablet itself is not included.

Can the alerts be switched off?

No. They play on the alarm channel at a set minimum volume, so a muted tablet still chimes for a new booking. That is on purpose: nothing is missed mid-service.

How do I get out of kiosk mode?

With the manager PIN. It opens a way out for the time you set in the dashboard, then the tablet comes back to Manjelier by itself.

What if a tablet goes missing?

Put it in lost mode from the dashboard: it shows your message and a phone number. You can also lock it or restart it from there.

Do I need Bookings to use the kiosk?

No. Bookings comes with 2 licences. With the AI waiter alone, each tablet is a licence at £9 a month.
